Time to Begin Again

Only 16 more days until the start of the 2015-16 Education and Worship schedule for Wednesday evenings at Calvary Lutheran Church.  We’ll see you back in the dining room on September 16th, 4:45-6:15 pm, and in worship from 6:30-7:00 pm. (The menu will be coming soon on a separate post.) All Calvary members are encouraged to come and enjoy the fellowship time, and please bring friends along.  All are welcome here.

It’s been a pretty quick four months since we finished last year with a festive Aloha! Luau at the end of April. The food and the smiles were plentiful:

It’s fitting to end this blog post with Aloha, because it’s an ending for me as the volunteer coordinator of the Wednesday meal program, and a new beginning for Karla Mitzel as Hospitality Coordinator, recently hired to join the staff of Calvary Lutheran Church. More info about Karla coming here soon. The staff and volunteers at Calvary look forward to her leadership and skills in the kitchen as we move forward into the new year.  I will continue as a volunteer in the kitchen on Tuesdays and Wednesdays whenever I’m in town, and I’ll keep the blog updated with menus, recipes and photos.  Aloha!

Welcome back to the second half of the Calvary Lutheran Church education calendar year.  There will be a meal, classes and worship service every Wednesday from January 14th through March 11th.  There will be a 1 week Spring Break on Wednesday, March 18th.  Then we’ll resume from March 25th until the last day on April 15th. Thanksgiving Week at Calvary

We will not be serving dinner at Calvary the week of Thanksgiving. Enjoy your time with family and friends, eat lots of turkey, and we’ll see you back in the dining room for a Chili and Soup supper on December 3rd.

Other happenings at Calvary during the week of Thanksgiving:

A Concert to benefit Black Hills Children’s Home will be on Sunday, November 23rd,1:00 pm at Calvary Lutheran Church. Come and hear musical talents from our own Calvary Members. All are welcome! A free-will offering will be sent to the Children’s Home to provide those kids with a better Christmas.

WESTSIDE ECUMENICAL THANKSGIVING EVE SERVICE will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church on Tuesday, November 25th, 7:00 pm. All are welcome!

Decorating for Christmas on November 30th: Like to decorate? Helpers are needed to decorate the church for Christmas, Sunday November 30th from 3:00-9:00 pm. Pizza provided for workers. Call the office if you’re able to help 342-9043.
