My family and I have enjoyed the dinners and fellowship for a couple of years. Often I would pay more than the suggested donation. Now we have fallen on hard times and I cannot pay for the dinners. Because I work I am unable to help with the cooking and serving. I am trying to help my daughter by bringing my grandson to Wednesday night school. In the past before his class we would eat together . My daughter and I have taught his class a few times each year. I do what I can but this year I really can’t do anything. Last year the $4 a piece for my family was difficult and this year it is impossible. I know it says suggested donation but the people taking the money would make us feel bad and wait for us to find another dollar if we only had $11 and not $12. Please be a little more lenient if people come up short. I always paid a few dollars extra whenever I could. As for my kids and I it will be one less thing or meal we will do together this year because of the cost..

The Wednesday meal at Calvary is a ministry of fellowship. Our focus is to make it easy for families to attend education and worship on Wednesday evenings without having to rush out to find something to eat and still be able to fit it all in. Our suggested donation is a guideline to help us bring in enough money to cover the cost of the food. No staff salaries are taken out of the donations, and in fact, most of the work is done by volunteers. Please view the suggested donation as a sliding scale and pay whatever you can afford. The greeters will be reminded that we are taking donations, no matter the amount. We look forward to seeing you again on Wednesday nights for dinner.
